On July 31, 1937, she married the love of her life, Robert F. Wilson, in Crosbyton, and he died on March 26, 1973. She worked as a bookkeeper and retired two years ago at the age of 92 from Odell Lowe Land Company. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and an Eastern Star, member of Chapter 76 in Lubbock. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning and maintaining the farm that she and her husband had before his untimely death. Ruth's joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Robert Francis Wilson, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Preston Pete Wilson on Feb. 5, 2007, and seven siblings.
