Della Hobbs

Della Mae Daniel Hobbs LUBBOCK- Della Mae Daniel Hobbs went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2012. She was born in Foard County, Texas to Cecil and Edna Daniel on November 1, 1943. She was raised in Ralls, Texas where she later married Charles Ray Hobbs on November 4, 1961. They later moved to Lubbock, Texas to begin a wonderful family. Della worked for Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District for 25 plus years where she touched many lives and at the same time was blessed with life long friends. Della enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything on this earth. She also didn't mind giving anyone a hard time or letting them know they were always welcome in her home. She loved being outside where she could enjoy the fresh air, watch her grandkids and great-grandkids play or just have a good ole conversation with any and everyone around. She had so much love to give and will be missed dearly. Della's memory will live on in her seven siblings, Virginia Evans of Pueblo, Colo., Ada McCutheon of Hereford, Texas, Buck Daniel of Lubbock, Texas, Norma Moore of Crowley, Texas, Preston Daniel of New Braunfels, Texas, Delton Daniel of Lubbock, Texas, and Lynn Daniel of Austin, Texas; six children, Webb Hobbs of Houston, Texas, Danny Ray Hobbs of Lubbock, Texas, Debbie Rex and spouse Donnie of Lubbock, Texas, Lonnie Dean Hobbs of Lubbock, Texas, Dennis Hobbs of Lubbock, Texas, and Casey Davis and spouse Kelby of Welch, Texas; 22 grandkids; 12 great-grandkids; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Edna Daniel; husband, Charles; sister, Wanda; and two brothers, Euel and Gary. A Celebration of life will be Saturday June 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. in New Horizon Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside service will be at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas with Pastor Johnny Evans officiating. Family will receive visitors Friday, June 29, 2012 at Sander's Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Donations can be made in Della's honor to IntegraCare Home Health and Hospice.
