Luther Leron Johnson LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Luther Leron Johnson from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at South Plains Church of Christ. Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. Luther was born on Aug. 17, 1970, to Cubit and Albertha (Jefferson) Johnson in Live Oak, Fla. He graduated from Lubbock Coronado High School. Luther continued his education at Lubbock Christian University. He worked for Children's Home of Lubbock, Buckner's Children's Home and LISD as a social worker. On May 15, 1993, he married Rose Whitney in Lubbock. Luther was a member of South Plains Church of Christ. Luther enjoyed sports, especially watching football and boxing; however, Luther's life centered on his children and just BEING DAD. He was preceded in death by his mother, Albertha Andretha Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Rose; four children, Darian Leron Johnson, Tye Whitney Johnson, Deja Marie Johnson and Tia Rose Johnson; his father, Cubit Johnson; four brothers, Lorenzo Johnson and wife Vickie, Johnny Johnson and Laverne, Dexter Johnson and wife Pia, and Quinn Johnson and wife Denise; two sisters, Denease Hearn and Elise Johnson; and a cousin, Isiah Washington.
