Roy D. Reed

Roy D. Reed LUBBOCK-Roy D. Reed, 20, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. He was born to Willie Reed, Jr. and Miquela Reed on Feb. 6, 1997, in Abilene, Texas. Roy accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Jerusalem Temple Church of God in Christ. Roy graduated from Monterey High School in 2015 where he enjoyed sports. He worked for various jobs, which included Subway and Texas Tech. Roy is preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Reed, Sr.; and great-grandmother, Miquela Carrion. Roy leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Willie, Reed Jr. and Miquela Reed; grandparents, Kathy Reed, Eduardo Maldonado, and Linda Maldonado; one daughter, Elani Lanae Reed; one son, Roy Devin Reed, Jr.; one brother, Marcus D. Reed; one sister, Kiarah L. Reed; girlfriend, Chyanne Villarreal; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at St. James Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
