Anita S. Guzman LUBBOCK- Mass of Christian burial for Anita S. Guzman 79 of Dumas will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday May 8th, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Friends are invited to join the family in a rosary at 7 p.m. today, May 7, 2013, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Interment will be at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Mrs. Guzman passed into the waiting arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born May 12, 1933 to her late parents Guadalupe and Pascuala Sierra. Mrs. Guzman married Pedro Guzman on Oct. 23, 1954 in Littlefield. Mr. Guzman has been waiting for her heavenly return since his passing on Dec. 23, 1990. Mrs. Guzman attended St. Peter and Paul Church in Dumas. She enjoyed crafting and Bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her children, John E. Guzman (Ofelia) of Lockney, Rosa Sauceda (Pete) of Lubbock, Eloisa Lopez (Rito) of Dumas, and Sylvia Mendoza (Pat) of Vernon; sisters, Ofelia De Leon of Oklahoma and Nina Guzman of Dallas; and brothers, Lalo Sierra, Juan Sierra both of Littlefield, and Alfredo Sierra of El Paso. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
