Ann Greener MORTON- Church services for Ann Greener, age 74, of Austin and formerly of Morton are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morton with Rev. George Poonley of Shallowater officiating. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, January 29, 2013 in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton. Burial will be at Morton Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Ann Greener died Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Austin. She was born November 24, 1938 to Lee and Viola (Shumate) Parsons in Greenville, Texas. She married Robert Greener in Levelland on December 18, 1959 after meeting in the summer of 1958. Bobby preceded her in death in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother, Joe Parsons and a sister, Zelma Neighbors. Ann Greener lived in Morton since 1960. She was a very involved member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morton, Texas. She was a long time employee of the FSA office, beginning in Hockley County, and then retiring in the Cochran County FSA office. After her retirement, Bobby and Ann focused on enjoying and remodeling their lake house in Breckenridge, and moved there permanently in 2002. She enjoyed the retired life at their lake house on Hubbard Creek with her grandchildren and family as well as many friends. In 2007 Ann moved to Austin and joined Greg and his family. Ann was a precious friend to so many, a friend who taught each of us what a friend means. She loved to be with people, small or large, fancy or plain. We thank God for her because Ann gave us an unpretentious and normal model of goodness. Survivors include two sons, Greg Greener and wife Jennifer of Austin Texas, and David Greener and wife Kim of Morton, Texas; sister, Thelma Cox of Austin; and three grandchildren, Dylan Greener, and Lily Greener both of Austin, and Bailey Greener of Morton, Texas. Memorials may go to the New Mexico Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, NM 88130-9411.
