Ben H. Bo Becker Jr. SLATON-A family visitation for Bo Becker, 88, of Slaton will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Englunds. Celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in Slaton's St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Nicolas Rendon and Msgr. Joseph James officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Bo was born in Bell County on April 15, 1925. He passed from this life Oct. 15, 2013. He moved with his parents Ben and Elsie Becker to Slaton in 1936 from Taft. He entered military service in the US Navy during WWII. He was a life member of Slaton VFW and served as Post Commander. After his discharge, Bo returned to Slaton and married Charlotte Nesbitt on Aug. 11, 1947, in Slaton. They began Becker's Pump Service in 1953. Four siblings have preceded him in death: Weldon Becker, Lenette Sanders, Lorena Riney, and Christell Sepala. Those who survive him include his wife, Charlotte; sons, Gordon Becker and wife Melissa, all of Slaton, and Matt Becker and wife Cheryl of Lubbock; sister, Ruth Barkley of Fort Worth; along with grandchildren, Amanda Schmidt and husband Joshua, Jared Becker, and Audra Becker. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Slaton's Meals on Wheels, 230 W Lynn, Slaton, TX 79364.
