Beverly was born on May 6, 1950, in Brownfield, Texas, to C.J. and Margie Fails. Growing up as a farm girl in West Texas, Beverly at an early age was a born-again Christian and attended Lakeview Baptist Church. She attended her grade school through high school years in Tahoka, Texas, graduated from Tahoka High School in 1968, and went on to receive two bachelor degrees from Texas Tech University, one in English and the other in history. She was a devout teacher whose goal was that every student would leave her classroom with a strong will to succeed in life. She taught school in New York, Nevada, Lubbock and New Mexico. She had a wonderful sense of humor that has been enjoyed by many! She retired from the classroom in 2010 after 25 years of teaching. Her hobbies through the years included playing tennis, cooking, reading, writing, crossword puzzles, and most of all her family. She married Jan Madnick on Nov. 30, 1981, in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include her husband, Jan; two sons, Troy Doelling and wife Nikki of Midland, Texas, and Trevor Doelling of Lubbock, Texas; two grandchildren, Maranda and Dylan Doelling; and siblings, Dianne Murphy and husband Cecil of Lubbock, Texas, Patricia Brackeen and husband James of Lubbock, Texas, and Chris Fails and wife Deanna of Meadow, Texas. In memory of Beverly, we encourage contributions be made to the , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
