Carlos T. Mesa SPUR- Carlos T. Mesa, 83, passed away on January 27, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Carlos was born on September 30, 1929 to his loving parents, Adelaida Trigeros Mesa and Ramiro Mesa, in Amatlan De Canas, Nayarit, Mexico. He married Oralia Rangel on February 2, 1948 in Eldarado, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughters, Adelaida and Manuelita Mesa; his son, Carlos Mesa, Jr.; and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Ylda Sproles, Olga Pinon, Andrea Sides, Estella Casias, Martha Mesa, Margarita Mesa, and Rosa Martinez, all of Lubbock, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spur, Texas. He worked and retired as a farmer/rancher in Spur. His favorite time was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch the Texas Rangers. His favorite player was Nelson Cruz. He had many friends, nurses and caregivers that he loved. He will be greatly missed by many. A rosary will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas at 6 p.m. Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on January 30, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Father Renato officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest following the service on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Spur Memorial Cemetery at 2 p.m.
