Charles Abe Brendle LUBBOCK-Charles Abe Brendle, 98, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 28, 2014. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Texas. Charles was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Winston Salem, N.C., to Stacey and Willie Brendle. Charles enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and was a World War II veteran. Charles was a retiree of the city of Lubbock. His survivors include his daughter, Stacey Brown; grandson, Colin Brown; granddaughter, Meredith Braaten and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Cade and Kenslea Braaten; as well as one niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Inez and parents Willie and Stacey Brendle. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Meals on Wheels of Lubbock.
