Christopher Daniel Mecalco LUBBOCK-A Mass for Christopher Daniel Mecalco will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Andres Mendoza officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Calvillo Funeral Home. Christopher Daniel Mecalco, 33, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 8, 1979, to Jose and Noemi Mecalco in Lamesa, Texas. He attended Four County Coop School in Brownfield. Christopher then moved to Lubbock in 1994. He attended Dunbar Middle School. Chris graduated from Estacado High School in 2001. He was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Mecalco Sr., in December 1997. Christopher leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Noemi Mecalco of Lubbock; his brothers, Samuel Arce, Leopoldo Mecalco, Bernaldino (Sarah) Mecalco, Jose Mecalco Jr., all of Lubbock, and Joshua (Crystal) Mecalco Sr. of New Deal; his sisters, Norma (Joe) Mecalco of O'Donnell, Esmeralda (Eliseo Jr.) Mecalco of Morton, Lydia (Edward) Mecalco, Minerva Mecalco, Maricruz (Adam) Mecalco, Michelle Mecalco, and Graciela and Rene Mendoza, all of Lubbock; his maternal grandmother, Tomasa Honesto of Lubbock; and a host of nieces and nephews. His passing will also be mourned by his special family at Calab Inc. On behalf of the family, a special thanks is to Dr. Craig Baker and Odyssey Hospice for your compassion and support.
