Cora De Los Santos LUBBOCK- Funeral services for Cora De Los Santos, 76, of Lubbock will be held on Wednesday December 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1603 Cherry Ave. with Msgr. James O'Connor officiating. Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service on Wednesday at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Cora De Los Santos was born December 31, 1935 in San Ygnacio, Texas. She was the daughter of Melquiades and Antonia Gonzalez. She married Mario De Los Santos on September 26, 1959 and resided in Bustamante, Texas until 1962 at which time she moved to Lubbock with her family. From 1959 to 1971 Cora cared for her husband and four children. In 1971 she accepted a position as a teaching assistant with Roosevelt ISD and was employed there in this capacity until her retirement in 1987. In recent years, she provided contracted services translating parent and public information documents for Lubbock-Cooper ISD. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mario De Los Santos; a son, Mario Hugo; two sisters, Zulema Carreon of Laredo and Chrisitina Torres of Lubbock; and one brother, Melquiades Gonzalez Jr. of Lyford. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Berta and Jerry Fogerson of Southland, Corina and Senon Cruz, and Luis and Lena De Los Santos of Lubbock. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Amanda Villalobos, Laura, Luis Jr. and Lucia De Los Santos, and Marcus Cruz. Other survivors include four siblings, Ofilia Santiago of Miami, and Heberto Gonzalez, Jorge Gonzalez, and Juan Gonzalez of Zapata.
