Dan Copeland GAIL-Dan Copeland, 53, of Gail died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his home. Dan was born to Leslie and Bertie (Vaughan) Copeland Sept. 2, 1959, in Crosbyton. Dan attended school at Lazbuddie and graduated from Lazbuddie High School. After graduating, he began his work as a heavy equipment operator. He married and had three daughters. They made their home in Gail. He worked for over 30 years all over the South Plains and West Texas. He retired in 2009, due to health concerns. He married Deola Riley April 25, 2009, in Gail. Dan was a Christian man who enjoyed his relationship with the Lord, and his children and grandchildren. He had a very special relationship with his brother, Randy. They enjoyed many good times together. Survivors include his wife, Deola Copeland of Post; his mother, Bertie Copeland of Gail; three daughters, Becky Justice and spouse Bryan of Post, Rika Jo Copeland-Law and spouse Eric of Albany, and Dannelle Rae Garrison and spouse Michael of East Texas; two stepsons, David Lechuga of Post and Lavoy Lechuga and spouse Tina of Woodward, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Billie Jean Zapata of Post; one brother, Randy Copeland of Gail; six grandchildren, Ben and Blane Justice, Kason and Bryson Law, and Emily and Shane Garrison; eight step-grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Andrew Lechuga, Brooke Lechuga, Abigail Lechuga, Michael Willis, Felicia Lechuga, Tori Zapata and Justin Zapata; three step-great-grandchildren, Jacey Jones, Aubrey Jones and Sean Montoya; and several special uncles and cousins. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in Gail Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Hardman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Gail, will officiate. Arrangements are under the personal care of Dee and Janet Justice-Justice-Mason Funeral Home of Post. The family will greet friends 3 to 5 p.m. today, Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Borden County EMS, P.O. Box 342, Gail, TX 79738.
