Daniel J. Heinrich LUBBOCK- Rosary service for Dan Heinrich, 63, of Lubbock and formerly of Slaton will be 6 p.m. today, June 26, 2013 in Englunds Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Dan was born in Slaton on Dec. 2, 1949. He passed from this life Sunday, June 23, 2013. Dan graduated from Slaton High School in 1967. Shortly afterwards he entered the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meticulous achievement and the Silver Star for gallantry in action. After his discharge Dan worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in the Maintenance Department and was a member of the machinist union. He retired in 1998 and became a railroad consultant. Dan married Sharon Coffey on June 20, 1977 in Cleburne, Texas. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Evelyn Heinrich and granddaughter, Cydnee Rose. Along with his wife, Sharon, Dan is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Rose and husband Joey; son, Joe Heinrich and wife Krissy all of Lubbock; sisters, Carol Schiff and Cheryl Logsdon both of Lewisville, Ky.; along with six grandchildren.
