Dick Lauer LUBBOCK-Memorial services for Dick Lauer, 82, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Reverend Carolyn Jordan and the Reverend Kevin Young officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Sanders Funeral Home. Mr. Lauer passed away on Sept. 8, 2012. Richard Thomas Lauer was born in 1930 in Franklin, Neb., to William and Mana Lauer. He graduated from Lincoln High School and received a Bachelors of Science in business administration at the University of Nebraska. He married Ruth Kluck in 1956 in Columbus, Neb. The Lauer family moved to Lubbock in 1969. Dick opened Dick Lauer Insurance Agency in 1975 and sold the agency in 2001 to Sanford and Tatum, where he continued working until retirement. Loved ones include his wife; children, Tom, Chris and wife, Vickie, and Julie Anderson and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Zach Lauer, and Wes and Sam Anderson; and two brothers. A longtime member of the Lubbock Country Club, he was an avid golfer. He won several tournaments including the Lincoln Men's City Golf Tournament in 1955.
