Domingo Sunny Lopez LUBBOCK- Domingo Sunny Lopez, 74, of Lubbock passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday November 15, 2012. He was born June 26, 1938 in Slaton to Federico and Cuca Lopez. Domingo grew up in Slaton where he attended school. Sunny married Josie Elizardo on October 23, 1961 in Lubbock. He owned an upholstery and auto shop and worked for Falcon Jets in Littlerock, Ark. The couple returned to Lubbock in 2003 when he retired. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Josie; four sons, Lupe (Margie) and Freddie (Mary Alice), all of Lubbock, Jerry (Lisa) of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sunney of Cabot, Ark.; two brothers, Benny and Ricky, both of Slaton; seven sisters, Manuela of Slaton, Margarita, Elsa and Fina, all of Lubbock, Lena of New York, and Maria and Rosa, both of Austin; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Domingo was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Benny; and two brothers. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Combest Family Memorial Chapel with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. A rosary will be cited at 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
