Edward F. Swanson LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Ed Swanson, 66, of Lubbock with rosary services at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, followed by a time of visitation at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial following in Resthaven Memorial Park. Our beloved husband, father and brother went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Ed was born on July 18, 1946, to Roy and Daisy (Moorhead) Swanson in Deadwood, S.D., and graduated from Lead High School. He married Louise Margaret Dunn on Aug. 23, 1968 in Watertown, S.D. Ed attended the University of South Dakota and graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Ed was a member of Kappa Psi, a pharmaceutical fraternity, where he served as president. In 1970, Ed moved to Phoenix, Ariz., and worked for Revco Drug. He was transferred to Lubbock in 1983 and worked as the general manager for the West Texas and Eastern New Mexico Division. Moving to Denver City, Texas, in 1990, he owned and operated Liberty Drug until selling to retire this year. Ed was a member of the Denver City Lion's Club and Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lubbock. Survivors include his wife Louise; a son, Craig Edward Swanson of Columbia, Mass.; a daughter, Kiersten Louise Swanson of Lubbock; a brother, Gordon Swanson of Marietta, Ga.; and eight nieces and nephews.
