Elaine Jenkins LUBBOCK-Elaine Jenkins, 81, joined her heavenly Father on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lubbock, Texas, at Christ Lutheran Church. Pastor Grunklee of Christ Lutheran Church will officiate. Elaine was born in St. Joseph, Mich., on Oct. 1, 1931, to Matthew and Ida Stockman. She joined Berl Jenkins in marriage and had three beautiful children. Elaine was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lubbock for 43 years. Recently, she moved to Wichita Falls to be closer to her loving family and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wichita Falls, Texas. As a good and faithful servant of the Lord, she served others with a compassionate heart and strong will. Elaine was a virtuous woman that instilled strength, dignity, and honor in her family. Proverbs 31 epitomizes the life of Elaine Jenkins and Her children arise and called her blessed. The children that will continue her legacy are her daughters, Beth Peterson of Wichita Falls, Terry Surratt of Austin, Texas, and Laura Lewallen of Fort Worth, Texas; her grandchildren, Julie Vordenbaum of Frisco, Texas, Deryl Surratt Jr. of Arlington, Texas, Matthew Surratt of Austin, Texas, Katie Lewallen of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sam Lewallen of Fort Worth, Texas; and her great-granddaughter, Peighton Surratt of Arlington, Texas. Memorials can be made to the music funds of Christ Lutheran Church, Lubbock, Texas, and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wichita Falls, Texas. The family will receive visitors following the church service.
