Frances M. Douglas LUBBOCK- Frances M. Douglas, 91, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2012. She was born in Abbeville, Georgia on December 19, 1920. Her family moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where she grew up and worked in Washington D.C. for the National Health Service. During that time she met a young Marine, Harold J. Douglas, just home from the Pacific and WWII. They married November 10, 1945 in Alexandria, Va. She came to Texas in 1946 as a young bride where they made a home and raised their daughters. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 67 years; daughters and sons-in-laws, Jerry and Joy Haggard of Lubbock, and Ronnie and Pam Williams of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Scott and Honey Segrist of Lubbock, Keely Williams and fiance' Nick Garcia of Denver, Jason Haggard of Lubbock, and Zane Williams of Tulsa, Okla.; great-granddaughters, Hannah, Halli, and Scotlyn Segrist. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Lubbock Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th, 79411, or to Bacon Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 5110 54th, 79414. Arrangements are under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.
