John and Geneva began a caregiver support group for families of the mentally ill in the late 80's, and this group met in their home for 11 years. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October, 1996, shortly before John's death at age 86. Geneva spent the last 8 years of her life at Carillon, among some of her many friends.
