Helen Faye Thomas LUBBOCK-Helen Faye Thomas, 75, of Lubbock passed away on Dec. 16, 2012. Helen was born on March 22, 1937, to the parentage of the late Albert Walker and Gladys Moore. The fourth of 11 children, Helen graduated from Dunbar High School. Her first church home was at Christ Temple under the leadership of W.D. Haynes, and later she was a faithful mother of Victory and Praise Church. Helen was married to her beloved Leo Thomas for 37 years. To this union, seven children were born. Helen loved and cherished her friends and family, and always gave thanks to her father in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; two sisters; and two sons, Reginald Jones and Jessie B. Stevenson. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Leo Thomas; five daughters, Janice (Robert), Lucretia, Lydia (Clyde), Linda, and Joann (Mike); three sons, Gerald (Jill), Rickie (Maria), and Tim; three sisters, Bobbie, Mary and Waverly; four brothers, Don Earl (Quilestine), Denzil, Herman and Charles; a special cousin, Ernestine (James); a special friend, Tommie (Thomas); 30 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Agape C.O.G.I.C at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
