Jerald Denzal Jiggs Hendrix LUBBOCK-Jerald Denzal Jiggs Hendrix, 95, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012. He was born on Nov. 4, 1916, in Delta County to Earl and Della Mae (Smith) Hendrix. He attended Slaton schools. He married Elizabeth Pauline Potsy Doggett on May 25, 1946. She preceded him in death, along with his sisters, Doyle and Thelma; brothers, Donald and Warren; and his parents. Jiggs served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was in the D-Day battle, and served in the Europe Theater from Aug. 14, 1942, to Sept. 25, 1945. He is survived by his son, Fred Hendrix; daughter, Jerre D. Fitzgerald and husband John; along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Aug. 19, 2012, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Resthaven Memorial Park.
