Keaton Owens Obituary

Keaton Spence Owens Keaton Spence Owens, age 18, of Childress died on Monday, October 24, 2011 in Lubbock. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Childress with Rev. Chad King, pastor, Justin Stice, youth minister of the Wolfforth United Methodist Church and Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Welllington officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Visitation will be on Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Childress from 5 to 8 p.m. Keaton was born on April 8, 1993 in Lubbock to Dudley and Lori Testerman Owens. He graduated from Childress High School in 2011 and was a freshman at Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he was pledging the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Keaton attended the First Baptist Church in Childress and he enjoyed mountain biking, cycling, cars, hunting, and working at Owens Supply with his dad. He is survived by his father, Dudley Owens of Childress; mother, Lorie Testerman Owens of Corinth, Texas; stepmother, Sealy Vest of Childress; a brother, Blake Owens of Childress; three stepbrothers, Vandon Vest and Sawyer Vest both of Lubbock, Stetson Vest of Childress; his grandparents, Ralph and Rebecca Owens of Wellington, Doug and Nancy Testerman of Hollis, Okla.; great-grandmother, Charlottie Testerman of Hollis, two aunts Jill Dugan and husband Jason of Wellington, Renee Lewis and husband Michael of Derry, N.H.; his uncle, Charles Testerman and wife Jane of Hollis; cousins, Brice and Dixon Dugan, Barrett and Nikki Huntress and Blair, Mylah, and Haddie Testerman. Pallbearers are Trenton Dickerson, Chase Whidden, Colby Dickerson, Hank Biddle, Michael Mladenka, Camden Steele, Cade Skeete, and Coby Tomlin. Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Paul and his Phi Delta Theta Brothers. The family request that memorials be made to the Texas Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta Scholarship Fund % First Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 1090, Childress, TX., 79201.
