Kenneth Chernushek LUBBOCK-Kenneth Richard Chernushek, 91, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. He was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Stafford, Conn. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Focal Point Church in Lubbock. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth; a sister, Gladys Hansen; and his first wife of 36 years, Josephine Gonzales. He moved to Lubbock in 1987 and married Lola Conner in 1990. He is survived by a sister, Joanna Given; his wife, Lola; four stepchildren; five stepgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a much-loved brother-in-law, Eugene Paden. He served in the military during World War II as a radar specialist and electronic instructor, and worked for the US Naval Research Unit in Johnstown, Penn. Kenneth was a caring and giving person who always had the time to help someone in need. His memory will be cherished and his presence greatly missed.
