Kenneth Randel Drake QUANAH- Kenneth Randel Drake, 65, of Petersburg, Texas passed away on March 22, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the First Presbyterian Church of Quanah, Texas. Ken was born June 15, 1947 in Quanah, Texas to Kenneth E. and Elaine Drake. He graduated high school from Casa Grande Union High School in 1966 and attended Arizona Western College in Yuma, Ariz. Ken served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, receiving numerous medals and was honorably discharged from active duty on May 6, 1975. His entire working career was spent in the farming and ranching community throughout the Southeast United States as a gin manager and cotton broker, ending his career as the general manager of the Petersburg Grain Co-Op. Loved ones include his wife, Denise; children, Donna Johnson and husband, Donnie, Tara Drake, K.R. Drake; stepchildren, Eric Nunnery and Heather McCullough; brothers, Pat and Chuck Drake; granddaughters, Grace and McKenna Johnson; cousin, Robin Reynolds; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials in lieu of Flowers are suggested to the Kenneth E. Drake Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O First Presbyterian Church of Quanah, P.O. Box 118 Quanah, TX 79252.
