Lahrue Cade Tippit Lahrue Cade Tippit of Tahoka passed away at home on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the age of 94. Camilia Lahrue Cade was born March 14, 1918 in San Antonio to Aubra M. Cade and Pherne Taylor Cade of Friona, Texas. While Aubra was training for World War I, two more girls were born in Wilson, Texas, Doris Jeane married Randolph Rutherford, and Iris Deane married Tom Turner. Lahrue was a homemaker and worked at Rutherford's Department Store until retiring. She married her high school sweetheart, John Thomas Tippit, on May 26, 1934 in Roswell, N.M. Lahrue was very involved in the community. She was a member of the Phebe K. Warner Club, Tahoka Garden Club, Hospital Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Christian Women, Home Demonstration Club, and served as a Girl Scout leader. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gerald Deane Wood and husband Hilton of Tahoka; son, James Timothy Tim Tippit and his life partner Tony Thornton of Lubbock; granddaughter, Deanya Lyn Wood Williams and husband Whitney of Lamesa; grandson, Kevyn Wood and wife Lisa of Paducah, Texas; and great-grandson, Eric Williams and wife Taysha of Lubbock; and great-great grandson, Cooper Williams of Lubbock. Lahrue was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two sisters, Doris Jean Rutherford and husband Randy and Iris Deane Turner and husband T.T. Turner; and great-granddaughter, Melanie Joan Wood. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at Combest Family Funeral Home in Tahoka. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Tahoka Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Holman and Rev.
