Lorrye Lou Moore SLATON-Funeral services for Lorrye Lou Moore, 80, of Idalou, formerly of Slaton, will be at the First United Methodist Church in Slaton, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, with Pastor David Gerhardt and Chaplain David Drake officiating. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service. The family will have a visitation Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Englunds. Mrs. Moore passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. Lorrye was born in Slaton on April 6, 1936, to Douglas and Helen (Harlan) Livingston. She grew up in Ragtown and Post and was a graduate of Post High School in 1954. Her working career was in the medical profession as a secretary. She married Gene Moore on July 6, 1973, in Post. Lorrye was a member of First United Methodist Church of Slaton. She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Gene of Idalou; one son, Tracy and wife, Twana McAlister of Lubbock; a daughter, Jackie Lester of Waxahachie; along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Runkles of Levelland. Lorrye was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Terri McAlister; and a son, Clay Moore. The family would like to thank the Wonderful girls of Library of Legacies in Idalou and the staff of Accolade Hospice of Lubbock. Without their tender joy, patience, tears, and love, the family would have been lost. We love you all. The family suggests memorials to Slaton's Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels Program, or Slaton's First United Methodist Church.
