Louisa Valdez POST-Louisa Valdez, 89, of Post, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, in Lubbock. She was born to Albert and Adela (Gusman) Pantoja Dec. 13, 1923, in Gonzales County. They came to Garza County in 1935 to live. She married Julio Valdez in January 1941 here in Post. Julio preceded her in death April 25, 2009, after 68 years of marriage. They have made their home here in Post since their marriage. Louisa worked for many Garza County families as a caregiver for many years. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Castello, June 1, 1999, and Rosie Trevino, Aug. 15, 2011. Two grandchildren also preceded her in death, Rosie's infant son, Feb. 19, 1978, and Marlin Valdez, June 13, 1992. Louisa was a longtime member of the Post Church of Christ. She is survived by two sons: Eddie Valdez, and John Valdez and spouse Katy, all of Post; six daughters, Diana Valdez, Susan Valdez, Rita Cleveland, Lucy Martin and spouse Glenn, Nora Arellano and spouse Luis, and Lesa Villegas and spouse Romeo, all of Lubbock; four sisters, Cenaida Hernandez of Wyoming, Mich., Val Carrizales of Lubbock, Tomasa Gonzales of Amarillo and Annie Interial of Galesburg, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Post Church of Christ with Jimmy Valdez officiating with Paul Valdez and James Whitehead assisting. Burial will follow in Terrace Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Dee and Janet Justice, Justice-Mason Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Glenn Martin, Romeo Villegas, Luis Arellano, Michael Valdez, Mark Valdez, Jose (Chepo) Delgado, Danny Valdez and Felix Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be Isreal Castello, Carlos Castello and Tino Trevino. The family will greet friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
