Mary W. Smith LUBBOCK-Funeral services for Mary W. Smith, 61, of Wolfforth will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in the Franklin Bartley Chapel with Dan Wisecup, Diane Knaub, and Silas Gartin officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Franklin Bartley Funeral Home, 4444 S. Loop 289. Mary passed away on July 15, 2012. Mary Whitley was born on Jan. 8l, 1951, in Dumas to Odis and Juanita (McKay) Whitley. She married the love of her life, Edwin Smith, on June 4, 1970, in Amarillo. Mary loved her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother, and particularly a grandmother. Mary was a seamstress, artist, and an avid antique collector. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 42 years, Edwin Smith of Wolfforth; son, Marcus Smith and his wife Shanda, and their sons, Caden, Colby and Creed, all of Celina, Texas; her father, Odis Whitley of Aztec, N.M.; four brothers, Joe and Catherine Whitley of Bloomfield, N.M., Eddie and Paula Whitley of Grand Junction, Colo., Les and Janet Whitley of Aztec, N.M., and Wes and Glenna Whitley of Dumas. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Whitley Harvey of Dumas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Odyssey Hospice, 1717 Norfolk Ave, Lubbock TX 79416, or TTU HSC Neurology Dept, 3601 4th St, Lubbock, TX 79430.
