Matthew David Tipton SILVERTON-Matthew David Tipton, 14, of Silverton passed away, Nov. 23, 2012, at the Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Silverton with Rance Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Silverton Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home. Matthew was born July 20, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas, to Dwain and Alison Tipton. Matthew was an eighth grader at Silverton Junior High. He played football, basketball, and ran track. His hobbies included water skiing, playing Xbox with his friends, hunting, and fishing. He was a compassionate young man and loved his cats and his dog, Lucy. He was a huge fan of Texas Tech football. Matthew brought great joy to his friends and family with his bright smile and magnetic personality. Matthew is survived by his parents, Dwain and Alison Tipton of Silverton; a sister and best friend, Abbie Tipton; grandparent, Sally Grimland of Silverton; and aunts, uncles and cousins, Gary, Susie, Chase and Anna Younger of Abernathy, Walt, Jennifer and Greg Garrison of Canyon, and Jeff, Amy, Elise and Michael Grimland of Huntington Beach, Calif. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Reba Tipton, and Terry Grimland.
