Mavis Ann (Harrison) Bybee (1925 - 2018)

Lubbock- Mavis Ann Bybee passed peacefully from this earth to join her Savior on July 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 13, 1925 to Robert and Mary Harrison in Nolan County. Her childhood years were spent in Wellington and Morton where she started her own family before eventually relocating to Pampa, Texas

Mavis began working for Sears & Roebuck in Pampa in 1955. Her success with Sears lead to an accomplished career managing stores throughout the Panhandle. She moved to Lubbock in 1976 where she transitioned her career to property management. Mavis worked for Sentry Property Management managing several properties. Most notably, she managed The Riviera Apartments where she worked until her retirement in 2000.

Mavis was dedicated to her family, friends, and community. She was a member of the Downtown Bible Class for years as well as an active member of the Lubbock Lions Club. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family and was a regular with the Lubbock Dance Club.

Known as "Nanny" to her family, Mavis is survived by her daughter Ann Franklin and her husband Darrel, son Robert Bybee and his wife Donna, granddaughter Carey Frazier and her husband Chris, grandson Shane Bybee and his wife Kim, granddaughter Sandee Bybee; sister Betty Jo Hudson, brother Sid Harrison and his wife Sue. Nanny's legacy lives on through her great grandchildren including Jennifer Conner and her husband Chris, Robert Frazier, and Paula Frazier and her fiance Matt Oyer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15th from 4:30-6:00 pm at Combest Funeral Homes in Lubbock and memorial services will be held Monday, July 16th from 10:30-11:30 am at Combest Funeral Homes. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm at Morton Memorial Cemetery in Morton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lubbock Lions Club Clem Boverie Foundation at 3210 23rd St., Lubbock, TX 79410 or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children at 2222 Wellborn St., Dallas, TX 75219.
