Naida R. Gibson PADUCAH-Naida R. Gibson, 86, of Fort Worth passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Fort Worth. Services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. at First Methodist Church, Paducah, Texas, with Red Steagall, David Stringfield and Christie Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Guthrie Cemetery, Guthrie, Texas, with Billy Paul Vinson officiating under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas. Naida was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Paducah to Red and Starlie Watson Richards. She was a 1943 graduate of Paducah High School. She attended college at the University of Colorado, received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, and was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Naida married J.J. Gibson on Nov. 10, 1948, at her parents' home in Paducah. He passed away in 2001. She was a ranch wife in every sense of the words. Naida was a member of the 1923 Club in Paducah and the First Methodist Church. She served on the Dean's advisory board for the College of Human Sciences at Texas Tech University. She was a longtime member of the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock. She is survived by her two sons, Jim Gibson of Fort Worth, and Mike Gibson and wife Shonda of Hackberry, Texas, and two grandsons, P.L. Gibson and J.J. Gibson. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Paducah. The family suggests memorials to the Ranching Heritage Association, 3121 4th Street, Box 43200, Lubbock, TX 79409, or First United Methodist Church, 904 10th Street, Paducah, TX 79428.
