Norma Jean Chisum LEVELLAND-Funeral services for Norma Jean Chisum, 85, of Lubbock will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in George Price Funeral Home Chapel, Levelland, Texas, with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, First Christian Church, Levelland, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. She died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in Lubbock. Norma Jean was born in Skiatook, Tulsa County, Okla., on July 8, 1927, to O Dale and Mary Alice (Jordan) Roberts. She graduated from high school in Ada, Okla., and then went on to graduate from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Levelland, where she worked as a RN at a local hospital. She married Boyer Chisum on Aug. 10, 1950, in Levelland, and he preceded her in death in 1988. The family lived in Uvalde, where she was a school nurse in Sabinal. Norma Jean was a nurse at St. Mary's when they lived in Brownfield. Norma Jean retired from nursing from Angelo Community in 1989 in San Angelo. She enjoyed reading, painting, and watching movies. She was also an avid sports fan. She is survived by her three children, Dr. A. Dale Chisum (Terry), Olatha, Kan., Becky Fitch (John) of Flower Mound, Texas, and Mark Chisum (Diane) of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren, Dawn Chisum, Olathe, Kan., Patrick Chisum, J.D., Charleston, S.C., Tanya Gaines (Chris), Superior, Colo., Christine Fitch, Dallas, Texas, and Dr. Michael Fitch, USN, Carlsbad, Calif.: a sister-in-law, Jean Roberts of Friona, Texas; a nephew, Mike Roberts of Hereford, Texas; and a niece, Patricia Shirley (Richard) of Katy, Texas.
