Norma Marie Houchin Wofford LUBBOCK-Norma Marie Houchin Wofford of Lubbock passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 12, 2013. She was born April 8, 1928, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Will and Annie Ray. The family moved to the west Texas area when she was 16 months old. She grew up and attended school east of Lubbock in the Canyon and Roosevelt systems, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1946. Marie married Raymond Lloyd Houchin on Oct. 20, 1946. He passed away suddenly in 1981. She spent much of her working years in the medical field. She then married a high school classmate, J. Douglas Wofford, on Dec. 30, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Ray; son, Bradley Ray; five brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, J. Douglas; two daughters, Kay Arki, Debra Shadden (David); son, Tony Houchin; stepdaughter, Linda Carr; and three sisters, Betty Lewis (Darrel), Lilli Miller, and Veneta Lewis (Norris); seven grandchildren; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephew Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. at Monterey Baptist Church with burial to follow in Peaceful Garden Cemetery.
