Rio Martin Pericoli LUBBOCK-Rio Martin Pericoli of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the age of 87. He was born May 14, 1925, in Scranton, Penn., to Louis and Adilgisa Pericoli. After graduating high school, Rio joined the U.S. Army, where he served 28 years until retiring. He then went to work at Texas Tech University. Rio married Yumiko Tomori on March 9, 1959. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; son, Louis and wife Maricella of Amarillo; two daughters, Tammy Narvaiz and husband Mike of Lubbock, and Jeannie Pericoli of Amarillo; and five grandchildren, Josh, Marissa, Isabella, Junior and Emelda. Rio was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Rosary will be at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. today, Nov. 15, 2012, with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Rio will be laid to rest in Peaceful Gardens.
