Robert Bob Carl Johnston LUBBOCK-Robert Bob Carl Johnston, 90, of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at a local care center. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, at Resthaven Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in Resthaven Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Bob was born on Jan. 27, 1922, in LeSeur Center, Minn., to George Earl and Rose Amanda (Erickson) Johnston. He married Marguerite Hudnall on Jan. 5, 1946, in Superior, Wis. She preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2011. He served in Army Air Corps (Air Force) during World War II as a navigator bombardier. He was also a bookkeeper for Hi-D-Ho Drive-in, Yates Carpet in Lubbock, and Stacy's Furniture in Levelland. They were members of the Catch-All-Eight Square Dance Club for many years. They were members of Highland Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sue Johnston. Bob is survived by his sons, Roger Johnston and Tom Johnston, both of Midland; daughters, Carolyn Willis and Linda Garnica, both of Lubbock, and Sharon McDonald of Sayre, Okla.; brother, Melvin Johnston; sister, Lois Herzog of Superior, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
