Robert P. Palmer LUBBOCK-Robert P. Palmer was born on Aug. 31, 1945, to George and Mildred Palmer in South Bend, Indiana, and passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. He graduated from Meade County High School in Brandenburg, KY, in 1963, and received his BA in 1967, from The Ohio State University in both Political Science, and Chemistry. Bob attended law school at the University of Kentucky, and graduated with his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1970. He began his legal career as an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington D.C. Bob went on to become regional counsel for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, General Counsel for Halliburton, Associate Partner for Jackson and Walker LLP in Dallas, and then went into private counsel until 2009, when he retired and moved to Lubbock, Texas. Bob was an active member in the Republican Party in Dallas from 1978, where he was Precinct Chairman until 2009. When Bob moved to Lubbock he became Precinct Chairman from 2010 until 2014. He loved God, hunting, friends, and fellowship. He is survived by his children, Michael P. Palmer of Lubbock, and Matthew D. Palmer and wife, Maribeth of Mobile, AL; and grandchildren, Anna Dawson, Elizabeth Garland, and Matthew Pryce Palmer. His parents, George and Mildred Palmer, preceded him in death. Friends and family will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2017, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A celebration of Bob Palmer's life of 71 years will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. Memorial contributions are welcome and the family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 6001 81st St., Lubbock, TX 79424.
