Roxie Stroud MULESHOE-Chapel service for Roxie Stroud, 92, of Muleshoe is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel, Muleshoe, with Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe and Joel Sinclair of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Enochs Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home, Muleshoe. Mrs. Stroud died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Lubbock. She was born Nov. 5, 1920, to John and Edna (McManus) Smith in Healdton, Okla. She married Goldman Stroud in Clemscott, Okla., on Jan. 23, 1937. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law, Ernie Tull and Harry Pollard; a grandson, Perry Tull; and great-grandson, Justin Jones. Mrs. Stroud had lived in Bailey County since 1947, having moved from Crosbyton, Texas. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Roxie loved spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons, Arvin Stroud and wife Beverly of Brownwood, Texas, Glynn Stroud and wife Carlene of Muleshoe, and Gene Stroud and wife Ann of Midwest City, Okla.; four daughters, Lil Pollard of Littlefield, Texas, Doris Pirkle and husband Richard of Plainview, Texas, Bonnie Belliveau and husband Phil of Lubbock, Sandra Dickie and husband Jimmie of Woodrow, Texas, and Carolyn Kirby and husband Craig of Muleshoe, Texas; sister, Eloise Middlebrooks of Ardmore, Okla.; brother, Bill Smith of Healdton, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
