Wilson, 94, of Lubbock with visitation from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers with graveside services following in Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. John Ballard officiating. Our beloved Ruth went to be with the Lord on Feb. 6, 2013. She was born on March 14, 1918, to the late James Preston and Jessie Dell Jamerson in Boswell, Okla. Upon the death of her father at an early age, Ruth's mother moved the family to Post, Texas. Ruth graduated from Post High School and attended Draughn's Business College. On July 31, 1937, she married the love of her life, Robert F. Wilson, in Crosbyton, and he died on March 26, 1973. She worked as a bookkeeper and retired two years ago at the age of 92 from Odell Lowe Land Company. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and an Eastern Star, member of Chapter 76 in Lubbock. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning and maintaining the farm that she and her husband had before his untimely death. Ruth's joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Robert Francis Wilson, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Preston Pete Wilson on Feb. 5, 2007, and seven siblings. Survivors include a daughter, Rita Wilson Carlisle and husband Steve of Lubbock; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Wilson of Seminole; three grandchildren, Chris Wilson and wife Krisha of Harper, Steve Carlisle IV and wife Tracey of Frisco, and Paige Freeman and husband Kyle of Seminole; and five great-grandchildren, Kendall and Parker Freeman, Tobyn Wilson, Abbey Skief and Madison Carlisle.
