Steven Eugene Girdy LUBBOCK- Steven Eugene Girdy, 48, of Lubbock departed this life on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was born June 22, 1964 to Cecil Girdy and Johnnie M. Garner in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Estacado High School in 1982. He joined the US Navy and was also part of the Army National Guard. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Johnnie Mae Garner; four daughters, Amber, Ciepra , BreAnna and Kalyssa ; siblings, Ellena Martinez, James Vaults, Teri Jo Vaults, Cynthia Girdy, John Girdy, and Cedric Girdy; one granddaughter, Kylie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends. Celebration of life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Word of Truth Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
