William Bill Rizzo Sr. LUBBOCK-William Bill Rizzo Sr., 83, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2012. Family and friends will gather to honor his life on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street, Lubbock. A reception will follow at Stella's, 4646 50th Street, 50th and Utica, to provide a time of fellowship and support among family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Suffern, N.Y., later this week. A tribute of Mr. Rizzo may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family. William Anthony was born on Aug. 1, 1928, to Frank and Rose DeLeo Rizzo in New York, N.Y. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until 1952. On June 28, 1952, William Bill married the love of his life, Stella J. Scala, in the Bronx, N.Y. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lubbock. He is survived by his wife, Stella, and children, Dr. Joseph Rizzo, Patricia Rizzo, Rosanne Erickson and husband Robert, Gabriel Rizzo and wife Marisa, and Billy Rizzo. Mr. Rizzo is also survived by his grandchildren, Ariane Rizzo, Joseph Rizzo Jr., Robert Erickson Jr., Kristine Erickson, Martine Rizzo, Sophie Rizzo and Camille Rizzo, and his sister, Jean Caggiano. Mr. Rizzo was preceded in death by his siblings, Gabriel Rizzo, Pete Rizzo, Angelo Rizzo, Frank Rizzo, Mildred Lardo, Josephine Thomas and Antoinette Fischer. The Rizzo family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff at Lubbock Heart Hospital, as well as Dr. Mittal and staff at Covenant Specialty Hospital for the love and care shown to their father and husband.
