Wilma Jean Henderson LUBBOCK-Wilma Jean Henderson went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Dec. 2, 2012. Wilma was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Eldorado, Texas, to Eva and Allen Kuykendall. Her childhood was spent there, where she graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. She then attended Howard Payne College in Brownwood and later attended Texas Tech. She married Raymon F. Henderson on Sept. 6, 1958. Raymon was in the USAF, which allowed the family to live in several parts of the United States and Japan, until she made her home in Lubbock, Texas, in 1979. Wilma was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was an accomplished and published writer and poet, and enjoyed painting, reading, crocheting and being with her family and friends. Wilma was a very caring person and will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service, conducted by Edward W. Bucy, will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon Sr.; a son, Raymon Henderson Jr.; twin grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Wood; her parents; her brother, David Kuykendall; and her sister, Louise Kuykendall. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Betsy Louise Bucy and husband Ed of Lubbock; daughter, Cynthia Jean Minton and husband Brock of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren, Richard Tucker and his wife Katrina of North Carolina, Allysia Parker and her husband Andy of Nampa, Idaho, and Teresa Tucker of Corpus Christi, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Willow and Braxton Tucker, and Janayiah Grant; four stepgrandchildren, Lisa Bucy of Lubbock, Angela Bucy of Lubbock, Amanda Pinate and her husband Ruben of Lubbock, and Tamera Curry and her husband Chase of Ft Worth; nine step-great-grandchildren, Victoria, Alexandria, Elijah, Abigail, Ambree, Anavey, Bella, Carolyn and Lauren; many other beloved family members; and many close friends whom she cherished. The family expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Piyush Mittal and Shirley Reynolds who provided her with excellent medical care. The family would also like to express deep appreciation to the staff and residents at Lakeside Rehabilitation and Care Center where Wilma made many friends and received excellent care.
