Winfred Ronald Perdue SLATON- Winfred R. Perdue, 73, of Slaton, died Sunday, June 16 in Lubbock. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Vandelia Church of Christ with Doug Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Levelland Cemetery. Mr. Perdue was born on Dec. 17, 1939 in Clarendon, Texas to J.C. and Dorothy Mae Langford Perdue. He worked in the heating and air conditioning field and even owned his own company. He was a member of the Vandelia Church of Christ, loved playing the guitar, banjo and just about every other stringed instrument. Winfred was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Garry Don Perdue. He is survived by his wife, Betty Perdue of Slaton; three sons, Ronald C. and Timothy Mark and wife Annette Perdue all of Amarillo, and Lance Todd Perdue of Kingman, Ariz.; three daughters, Leza Maureen and husband Mark Lewis of Amarillo, Jennifer Alyson Cook of Levelland, and Julie Andrea and husband Sean Mays of Amarillo; two brothers, Wayne Perdue and David Perdue both of Lubbock; two sisters, Linda Owings of Lubbock and Anita Akers of Kingsland, Texas; his mother, Dorothy Mae of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
