L. Richard Ruff LUBBOCK-Services to celebrate the life of Richard Ruff, 77, of Lubbock will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Christian Life Assembly of God, followed by burial in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Our beloved Richard went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2014. Richard was born on March 15, 1936, to the late John and Bertha Ruff in Mobeetie and graduated from Mobeetie High School. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force, serving from 1954 to 1958. He married Doris Burns on June 5, 1959, in Tulia. Moving to Lubbock in 1960, Richard worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad in the district office. In 1972, he went to work as a court reporter for the 72nd District Court and retired in 2000 from the 237th District Court. Richard was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God. Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by four of his siblings. Survivors include his wife, Doris; a daughter, Evelyn (Steve) Hughett; a son, Brad (Nancy) Ruff; eight granddaughters, Erin (Kyle), Kristen, Rebecca, Kassie, Kelsie, Kaylie, Kirstie, and Karlie; and two brothers, C.A. (Nadine) Ruff, and Curtis (Frances) Ruff.
