Herbert Donal Seale LUBBOCK-Herbert Donal Seale passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at home with his wife of 57 years at his side. Don was born on Feb. 7, 1932, to the late Cecil Seale and Bernice Elizabeth (Everitt) in Canton, Texas. Don graduated from Idalou High School in 1949 and attended Texas Tech University on an athletic scholarship. He married Helen Chapman on Dec. 7, 1956, in Clovis, N.M. Don managed the VFW golf course near Woodrow for 18 years. He then began a 27-year career working with the LISD, most of those years as a supervisor for all of the school and athletic fields. Don was an avid fan and often critic of Texas Tech football and basketball. He enjoyed watching his beloved Idalou Wildcats and spending time at Hillcrest Country Club, giving everyone he came in contact with a hard time. Don is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Donnie Seale and Connie of Amarillo, Texas, and Glenn Seale and Gayla of Summerville, S.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sanders Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Park Monday morning. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of Lubbock or .
