Stella Hilburn LUBBOCK-Stella Hilburn, 92, of Lubbock went to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2014. Rosary will be recited this evening, Feb. 20, 2014, from 7 to 8 p.m. with visitation following at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass will be celebrated with Father Andres Mendoza officiating, at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow in Lamesa Memorial Park. Stella was a homemaker and loved cooking, spending time with her family, and keeping up with current events through the newspaper. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Stella's favorite places to visit were Colorado and Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Hilburn; a son, Rudolph Hilburn; a daughter, Gloria Rameriz; and four siblings, Ernest Lopez, Mary Magdalena Gonzales, Rosa Chavirra, and Charlie Lopez. Those surviving Stella are four daughters, Bertha Gonzales, Mary Lopez, Annadeen Lopez and Nora Briones-Baca; two sons, John Briones, Jr., and Willie Briones; nine grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved Chihuahua, Peanut. Memorials are suggested to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
