David Fowler LUBBOCK-David Fowler, 65, of Smyer passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at UMC after a brief illness. David was born on April 28, 1948, to Ben and Sylvia (Strange) Fowler in Tulia, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughters, Bobbi Koch and Amy Fowler Jones; sons, Shannon Fowler, Ross Hail, and Sheldon Fowler; sister, Lu Ann Neal; brothers, Thomas and Jimmy Fowler; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Martha Allen. David was known as a family man, always willing to help a family member or a friend with anything that they needed. He was a gracious and humble man. He loved the outdoors and hunting. He was a man you could count on. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, April 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Smyer with burial to follow in Smyer Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Smyer.
