Manuel H. Torres LUBBOCK-Manuel H. Torres, 83, of Lubbock went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 4 with his loving family at his side. A rosary will be held this evening in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Christ The King Cathedral. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Manuel Torres was born on Feb. 15, 1931, to Luz and Genoveva Torres in Asherton, Texas. His presence was a gift to all of us and his departure a reminder to all who met him of the beauty of a gracious man, a man of wisdom. He married Alicia Lopez Torres and would have celebrated 60 years on April 24. He was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of Christ The King Cathedral. Preceding him in death were his parents. He is survived by his wife, Alicia; daughters, Norma Torres, Edna Torres-Perry and husband Lawrence, Anna Morin and husband Raymon, and Elvia Sanchez; his sons, J. Richard Torres and wife Diana, Rene Torres, and Glenn Sanchez; also his grandchildren, Laura,Marcos, Christina, Eric, Kimberly , Ryan and Madison.
