Wanda J. Stegemoeller Services for Wanda J. Stegemoeller, 85, of Lubbock and formerly of Wilson will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Englunds Chapel and burial in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Wanda was born on February 1, 1929 in Winters, Texas. She grew up in Winters and graduated in 1946. Wanda married Roland F. Stegemoeller on March 17, 1956, and they resided in the Wilson community. She received her education degree from Texas Tech University in 1980. Roland preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1990. She was a middle school science teacher in Post ISD and taught the homebound students through SELCO, retiring in 2005. Wanda was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and a member of DORCAS Circle. She was the first woman to serve on the Wilson School Board. Wanda moved to Lubbock in 1992. Those who survive her include her son, Troy and wife Mary Stegemoeller; her daughter, Karen Holliday; a brother, Edward Bredemeyer, and a sister, Estella Bredemeyer, both of Winters; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Wanda's name to the Parkinson's Association or St. John Lutheran Church in Wilson. There will be a family visitation Tuesday, April 29 from 6 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
