Melba Adams LUBBOCK-Melba Adams passed away Friday, May 30, 2014. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 2, 2014, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 83 years at 10 a. m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Shallowater. Melba Dean was born on Oct. 23, 1930, to King and Vera Autrey Potter in Coryell County, Texas. On Sept. 23, 1950, Melba married the love of her life, Troy Adams at the First Baptist Church in Shallowater, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2002. Survivors include her children, Roger Adams and wife, Gloria, Brantley Adams and wife, Liz, and Shelly Martin and husband, Russel; grandchildren, Heath Adams, Matt Adams and wife, Cori, Haley Anderson and husband, T.J., Kara Robinson and husband, Ryan, Whitney Rister and husband, Jerod, Kenzie Lomax and husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Adolina, and Emma Adams, Lanny Rister, and Brantley Anderson; sister, Norma Ledbetter and husband, Tommy; and sister-in-law, Dora Potter. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Denise Adams, who died Sept. 20, 2002. Her brothers, Bill and Dalton Potter also preceded her in death.
